Match vs Kings Chester

After a week off due to adverse weather, the boys should of been up for what is always a close tie. The long coach journey certainly got the boys heated and once changed, after a quick warm up and inspirational team talk from Mr M we lined up for kick-off. The game got underway and from the kick both teams were fairly evenly matched with some end to end football. There were numerous chances at both ends, the pick of the bunch fell to Jamie Paul, who failed to convert. Soon after Kings broke down the right wing playing a dangerous ball into the box. Perhaps what could be described as some 'careless' defending resulted in a half volley into the corner of the Hulme net. The boys then began to get agitated somewhat resulting in a number of bookings from the rather card-happy referee. Half time came and Mr M reminded the boys to keep their heads and think about the outstanding performance two weeks previous, hoping for a similar result. However after the re-start the boys once again failed to play the football and only a few chances emerged. Perhaps we could have gotten back into the game with a little more composure in the last third of the game however we failed to take any half chances. The game then escalated when Jamie Paul received a second yellow card for deceit which led to an early bath. The lads definitely have some work to do in training for the return fixture at St. Bedes this weekend.
Notable performance: Tyler Moutlon
